The 2014 Graduates
6 June 2014 – Twenty-two graduates received their ITI degrees and certificates on a sunny day in the Schloss Courtyard. Christoph Cardinal Schonborn, in his homily, encouraged each graduate to be a witness of Christ. Class Speaker, Andrej Makovnik from Slovakia, urged each student to become a source of living water, by taking what they had learned from the sources – the Fathers and Doctors of the Church – and bringing it to the world. ITI President, Christiaan Alting von Geusau called on graduates to be grateful to those who had made it possible to study at the ITI and to be missionaries to the world.
Certificates were given to the one year Studium Generale students and diplomas were given to the Masters in Marriage and the Family, Sacred Theology Masters and Sacred Theology Licentiate students. Each recited the Profession of Faith as this is a requirement from Rome for those graduating with theological degrees. The graduates come from nine different countries; Austria, Australia, Cameroon, England, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Moldova, and the USA. As they received the recognition of their hard work from His Eminence Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, each turned with a big smile and then walked over to give a rose of thanks to ITI Patroness, St. Therese of Lisieux.
