ITI Students Participated in the Student Conference in Oradea

From May 14–16, four of our students—Dominic Catrinescu, Benjamin Ančočik, Peter Ančočik, and Henry Hunter—were invited to take part in a Central European student conference titled “People and Ideas that Changed the World,” held in Oradea, Romania.

The gathering brought together young scholars from across the region, offering a platform for lively discussions, knowledge exchange, and meaningful academic dialogue. Our students rose to the occasion, delivering a compelling presentation on Gregory of Nyssa, a fourth-century church father. They explored his unique and holistic vision of human nature, analyzed his pastoral guidance on the practice of slavery, and reflected on his lasting legacy in the field of spiritual theology.

Beyond the lecture hall, the conference offered rich cultural experiences. Our students toured the historic old town of Oradea and had the privilege of celebrating the Eucharist according to the Romanian Byzantine Catholic Rite.

The organizers especially appreciated that our students brought their families and young children along. They noted that this contributed greatly to a warm, family-friendly atmosphere throughout the event—something they hope to see more of in future editions.
