H.E. Bishop Gregory Eliya Tabe, Metropolitan of Damascus, visited the ITI on October 19 to celebrate Mass with the university community. In his homily, he underlined the universality of the Catholic Church and how this is what unites Catholics all over the world, regardless of the liturgical rite in which they express their faith. Bishop Tabe leads the diocese of Damascus, which is plagued by war and has witnessed untold suffering of its flock as the targeted persecution of Christians continues in Syria and Iraq.
