Update ITI and the Corona challenge

Since the day that the suspension of classes was ordered by the Austrian Government on March 10th, the ITI administration has been assisting the students to return home to their families. We have also been working hard to develop an alternative teaching plan and to prepare the necessary logistical and technical details to make it work. Some faculty have already started teaching classes online and it is remarkable to see how so many have risen to this challenge-of-a-lifetime with much serenity. On Tuesday, March 17th, the ITI was able to roll out the Alternative Teaching Plan to be implemented by all professor by Monday, March 23rd the latest. The plan provides for a complete switch to long-distance and online teaching through Google Meeting until the end of the semester, with the possibility either to resume physical classes by April 20th, or to continue in the home study mode until Graduation on June 6th. This will depend on the way in which the current global situation develops.
