On 11 January 2022, ITI students and priests participated in a prayer project of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church (UGCC) called The Rosary Unites. The initiative was launched on 14 October 2020 on the feast of the Protection of Our Lady with the blessing of the Major Archbishop of the UGCC His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk. Since then, the faithful of the UGCC around the world have been united in praying the rosary daily using modern means of social communication. Each parish community, led by its priest, uses a mobile phone to pray the rosary, which is broadcasted on Live Television (https://zhyve.tv/) throughout the Church. Thus, it allows each local parish to join in prayer with the global Church "with one mouth and one heart."
The aim of The Rosary Unites project is to pray for the Church, for peace in the world, and for peace in Ukraine. It is also a way to showcase the beauty of the diversity of the Church through special clothing, the decoration of churches and chapels, and the unique prayer melodies on the lips of consecrated persons. Fr. Roman Isayskyy, an ITI student from Ukraine, led the rosary broadcasted from the ITI Byzantine Chapel. ITI Chaplain Fr. Juraj Potocky Terek and our students prayed along. Over ten thousand Ukrainian faithful from all corners of the world were united through live streaming in prayer for peace in the world.
